Programs

Attock Sahara Foundation (ASF) is welfare based non-profit organization .

  • With a view to enhance vocational Skills of local women, ASF provides ample opportunities to learn the traditional handicrafts and modern skills at very affordable charges to beef up their family income through self-employment. Deserving females are also given free training in the following areas:-

    • Machine and hand embroidery
    • Cutting
    • Drafting
    • Sewing
    • Knitting
    • Glass/Fabric Painting
    • Computer Courses
    • English language
    • Beautician course

    Thousands of ladies have been trained in the above mentioned courses to date by ASF.

  • ASF stitching section is not only an earning unit of ASF, but also provides employment opportunities to widows, special persons and unemployed skillful persons of the local community. The Order Section has been catering to the needs of Corporate and Individual clients since the year 2000 and specializes in stitching uniforms, coveralls and dress clothes for gents etc. at very affordable rates. Main clients of ASF are ARL, APL, POL Khaur Hospital, AOC, AGL, United Human Resource Private Limited, Best Services, Wartsila. Cap Gas, Zong Telecom etc.

  • Poverty is a reality in our country and poverty alleviation is one of the main objectives of ASF. ASF spends millions of rupees annually through its various welfare programs which are designed for marginalized segment of the community.

    ASF welfare programs include:

    • Marriage Support Fund
    • Poor Patient Fund
    • Scholarship Fund
    • Assistance to Poor Fund
    • Charity in Kind
    • Zakat
  • Apprenticeship program is mainly designed to provide on the job training to younger generation both male and female. ASF Apprenticeship program encompasses on providing vocational training and practical exposure in different fields. The Apprenticeship scheme is being managed in collaboration with ARL and AHL. ASF pays monthly stipend to its apprentices. Many of ASF apprentices having successfully completed their apprenticeship are now working in different organizations.

  • Apart from providing relief to local community through medical camps, Earthquake & Flood Relief Operations, ASF has also helped in mitigating the sufferings of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Swat and North Waziristan.

  • ASF has deep roots in community and is well aware of its issues. In line with its objectives, ASF keep creating awareness on different social issues i.e. gender equity, physical & mental health issues, gender justice, women health, child protection, eye health, first aid, disabled persons, kitchen gardening, psychological and heart health issues etc. Experts are invited to deliver lectures and in these areas and awareness is created through active participation of local community. Womenfolk always remained main focus of these programs.

  • ASF has been providing recreational facilities to the community on regular basis which include:

    • Annual Meena Bazaar: provides recreational opportunity to the families of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
    • Sunday Bazaar: is being arranged on monthly basis for recreation and low rate shopping for local community.
    • Female Sports: ASF has been arranging sports events for its female employees and girls of neighboring schools/colleges.
    • Eid Mela: is another recreational activity for local community.
